Considered as the quintessence of Nature, so to speak, are the mother tinctures known in homeopathic medicine - extracts from medicinal plants which form the basis of our personal hygiene programme Dr. Förster® Care with Mother Tincture.

In comparison with traditional plant extracts, mother tinctures have 3 major characteristics:
1. For many mother tinctures, fresh plants only are used - and not dried ones! - since only fresh plants contain essential active ingredients in an unchanged and undiluted form.
2. Medicinal plants for mother tinctures are picked at exactly the right time of the year, namely when the concentration of active agents is at its highest.
3. In traditional extract production, plants are often boiled or heated to a high temperature. Mother tinctures, on the other hand, consist of cold-pressed plant extracts and alcohol. In this way, the natural powers of the plants are retained in full.

The Cream Balsams in Dr. Förster® Care with Mother Tincture each contain mother tinctures from 2 medicinal plants which are known and appreciated for their caring effect and complement each other ideally:
Camomile + arnica, calendula + hamamelis, comfrey + rosemary.
